Porvorim is a well-developed village coming under Aradi Socorro Panchayat. Goa’s legislative assemblies are held in Porvorim at the secretariat building and therefore is known as Goa’s legislative capital. Porvorim is a fast-developing area, very valuable to Real Estate investors. Porvorim is one of the most desired commercial as well as a residential location.   • Mall de goa

Porvorim has the largest mall in Goa. Provides everything you could ever wish for under the same roof. The exciting news is that Mall de Goa has an Inox cinema. Previously people had to travel to Panjim to watch movies but since it’s in Porvorim now it makes it convenient for a lot of people to come and have a good day. 

It has many international brands available like Tommy Hilfiger, Pepe Jeans, Calvin Klein, Marks & Spencer & many more. Apart from these brands, there are major Shops like Shoppers Stop, Fabindia, TNS Diamonds, Bargain book hunt, Big Bazaar which cater to different types of shoppers. On the top floor is the food court which includes McDonald’s, Subway, Kudos Pizzeria, KFC, Ritz Classic which gives people an ample of opportunities to choose from to satisfy their hunger. There’s also an astrologer who reads the future predictions from your hand. 

For gamers, there are plenty of arcade games to keep youngsters and adults happy. There is also sufficient parking available, so you can take the whole family or your friends along.

  • Houses of Goa Museum

Another option in Porvorim is to spend the day by visiting Houses of Goa museum and paintings of Goa’s legendary painter Mario Mirando. The Porvorim Gallery is dedicated to Mario Miranda’s art. It is an amazing and unique place located at Torda, Salva do Mundo. 

The museum has beautiful Portuguese artefacts displaying interesting facts about Portuguese architectural practices & old local houses. Not only does it look stunning, but it features an invaluable history of design. The museum is designed by the architect Gerald da Cunha and adjacent to the museum is his lovely house. To the front, is a unique school named Nisha’s playschool followed by Shiksha Niketan, a school for the higher kids, run by his wife. The school is designed by keeping two parameters in mind, that is Eco-friendliness and Child-friendliness. If you go there, have a tour of the school as well. 

  • Torda Creek

A little further to the museum is an unassuming little village, serene and quiet, a place called the Torda Creek. A narrow road having fields and river at both sides. Locals go there for fishing. Youngsters and adults go there to chill, relax and stroll. It is the best place for an early morning walk or for an evening jog.

  • Restaurant and Supermarket (cafes)

Porvorim has numerous options for food places. Some good restaurants which serve delicious food are Copperleaf, Bhojan, Basil leaf, Biryani Palace etc 

For vegetarians, there are Navatara and Cafe Bhosle. Apart from these restaurants, there are even cafes like Baker street, Gastronaut, Cremeux and many more which are perfect places to chill and enjoy tasty snacks. Also, street foods stalls are available at every corner selling delicious shawarma, momos, shev puri etc. Porvorim also has many Ice cream parlours like the Iceberg, O’mio Gelateria, Havmor Havfunn, Ibaco to beat the summer heat.

Porvorim has some really good supermarkets for kitchen and home equipment like Delfino which is on the highway, Bagayatdar, Maple Leaf etc. Wines and liquor shops too are available.

  • Shopping, Spas & Fitness centres

Besides the mall, there are many other shopping centres, some are small stores and some big like the Poshak showroom for kids clothes, toys etc There is D’ziner which is a top bespoke designer showroom for weddings and other occasions.

Many go to the gym these days, to remain fit and healthy is necessary. There are many gyms in Porvorim, a few are like Norbert’s fitness gym, Hi-fi gym, Champion gym etc. There are even numerous saloons and spa-like Snip Salons & Spa, Bina Punjani, Once Again etc.
