Fishing is one of the most relaxing and fun activities, whether you do it as a profession or a hobby, there is always something special about fishing. Timings change as per the weather, the tide, the time of the day or year and so on.  The best time for offshore fishing is the months of October to December. It is the best time to get a good catch of dorado, sail fish, king mackerel, cobia, wahoo, large groupers and barracuda.

If you are looking at angling then the best time is the months from October to May. You will get a good catch of soormai, mullet, salmon, rockfish, ladyfish or catfish. It is considered that hotter the weather it may be ideal to fish better. So day fishing will be better than at night when the temperatures drop a bit.

In the summer, from early morning till up to mid-morning is a good time for fishing. Noon till about 3 pm is not an ideal time to fish due to excess heat. During the winter a little before noon is a good time as earlier than that the waters still remain a bit cold.

A good idea will be to get to know the timings of the tide. It is best to fish at the beginning of the change in tide either at the start of high tide or low tide. So keep a watch on tide timings and fish accordingly.

Remember that windy days are very good for fishing. If you are fishing from the shore, on a windy day make sure you cast your line or net from the shore towards the wind. Similarly cloudy weather is a good time for fishing. When there is a drizzle or light rain it is the best time to fish to come out and get caught in your net or the line, however heavy rain will not be a preferred fishing time.
