Do’s and Don’ts of Hassle Free Goan Monsoon Wedding

Goa plays host to some of the best wedding venues both for locals as well as non-residents.
Goa is a very popular destination wedding venue and has even hosted a lot of celebrity
weddings. The popular months of weddings is usually during the season time from October
to May. However there are quite a few monsoon weddings taking place now days thanks to
the advancement in event management. However, hosting it can be very challenging and
you need to keep in mind a few things in order to have a hassle free Goan monsoon wedding.

indoor wedding hall

The first thing that you need to do when it comes to having a monsoon wedding is to book
an indoor hall. Do not even take a chance of assuming that the weather may be good on a
particular day and book something outdoors. You can opt for water proof tents if you insist
on using the lawns else the regular indoor halls will do the trick.

Additionally, make sure that the wedding hall has valet parking. Let your guests arrive on a
covered porch and step out of their vehicle after which they can avail of the valet service. If
required, have ushers escort guests with umbrellas. You would want your guests to enter
nice and dry so make sure to arrange for this requirement.

Coming to your attire, of course we understand that weddings come once in a lifetime and
you would like to make sure that you are wearing the best attire possible. Popular preferred
materials include velvets, thick silks, and brocade; however they are not the best choice for
the monsoons. You need to opt for something light like chiffon, net, georgette, crepe
brocade or lace. These materials are ideal for the monsoon season as they dry quickly and
do not retain moisture.

When it comes to your make up try and go in only for waterproof make up as it will last you
through the day in the rainy weather. Do not use cream or water based make up as they are
not appropriate for this season.

When you decide to style your hair, try and avoid hairstyles that make your hair hang loose.
Hair absorbs moisture and begins to get frizzy. You can go in for a bun which is fairly loose
or a braid. Your shoes need to be anti-skid so do not go in for stilettos, instead you can try
juttis, wedges or mojris.

If you wish to have a casual pre-party, you can make the best use of the weather and
organise a rain dance for your guests. They are sure to love partying in the monsoons.
As far as the food goes, make sure to include at least two hot beverages. Soups are a must
have for the rainy weather. Try and avoid too many salads as somehow the rainy season
does not bring on an appetite for a lot of salad.

Make sure to get these things right and then you are good to go ahead with smooth
operations at your wedding. Planning right will help you have a hassle free Goan monsoon
wedding.
