Checklist Before Opening a New School

Checklist Before Opening a New School

A school is a place where the future of a person gets shaped. It is the foundation for the building of a better nation. Since a school has the responsibility entrusted to it for the development of a child, the setting up of a school must be carefully looked into. It is best to make a list of all the things essential to the opening of the school and tick it off when completed.

The first point will be to decide the type of school that you wish to start. It may be a playschool, Pre- Primary, Primary or Secondary. You can prepare for the entire setup once you have decided the nature of the school. You will need to register the school either as a trust or society or a section 8 of the Companies Act 2013. The due process of registering it must be followed in order to proceed any further. You can then proceed and apply for recognition of the school with the state board.

The next step is to get ready to work on the physical aspect of the school or the school building. You will have to decide if you wish to purchase land and then build the school or pick up an existing school building that may not be in use. Once the school building work is in progress, you need to focus on finding the most important aspect of a school and that is the teachers. The teachers are the soul of the school who helps it turn out to be a success. You need to make sure that you hire well qualified and experienced teachers so that the output of the school is excellent. You will also need to hire a competent office staff.

You will then need to keep the operational stuff of the school ready. These would include office supplies like computers, office paper, and other stationery. You will then need to decide on the school uniform. You can either let the students get the uniform from the school or ask them to get it custom made as per your needs.

The next aspect is getting the classrooms student ready. You will need to get school furniture. School furniture is very essential as a student spends a minimum of 6 hours in school.  The comfort of the student is very essential so make sure to go in for great quality furniture. You will need to get desks, benches, blackboards, cupboards and so on. Go in for durable furniture that is attractive so as to keep a student’s mood bright the entire day. If it is for a pre-primary school then you will need child-friendly furniture.

Once you are set with the staff and operational measures, you need to promote your school. You can do so with paper ads announcing that admissions have opened, or you can also make the use of social media to convey the message. You could set a couple of days to let parents come and see what you have on offer in terms of curriculum and infrastructure.

Do make sure you go through all these topics and incorporate them in your plan for school business.
